OrMin now takes the lead in its socio-economic programs

During the Symbolic Signing of MOU, Col Edjawan stressed the decreasing number of the armed rebel on the said province. “The level of insurgency has dwindled in the past years and could not be considered as a major threat to the peace and order security of the province,” he said.
Yet, according to LtGen Visaya, “There will be no pulling out of forces in Oriental Mindoro, in fact, SOLCOM will augment additional forces in the Island of Mindoro.”
Meanwhile, MGen Gan expressed his gratitude for the concerted efforts that the Provincial Government, security sectors, and other peace and development advocates has extended in order to attain said undertaking, as it is another milestone on the campaign of 2ID in sustaining peace and development within its Area of Responsibility (AOR).
It can be remembered that similar to OrMin, the Province of Rizal, which is also under the AOR of 2ID was declared as CMFRD Province last July 6, 2015.
With the signed Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) between 2ID, PA and the Province of Oriental Mindoro, the latter now takes the lead in its socio-economic programs with the support of the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) and the Philippine National Police (PNP).
The signing of MOU declaring the OrMin as Conflict Manageable and Ready for Further Development (CMRFD) was held at the Tamaraw Hall of the Provincial Capitol on October 8, 2015.
