40 soldiers promoted to higher ranks

A total of 40 deserving enlisted personnel have been promoted to the next higher rank after thorough deliberation among equally qualified contenders. 2nd Infantry “Jungle Fighter” Division Commander Major General Rhoderick M Parayno led the donning of ranks to the newly promoted personnel during the traditional Monday flag raising ceremony held at the Division Quadrangle where he was assisted by the Division Sergeant Major Chief Master Sergeant Modesto Adriano. The requirements in the selection included a minimum number of years in one’s current rank, a passing grade on a competitive promotional examination, completion of a career military occupational specialty course, physical and neurological-psychological examinations and a physical fitness test. The selection process for promotion as well gauges the soldier’s competency and reputation in the service. In his message, MGen Parayno encouraged the newly promoted personnel to serve as examples to their subordinates in terms of upholding honest dealings so as to pay off the high regards and respect given by the public to the men in uniform.
