Infantry (Jungle Fighter) Division participated in the National Schools Maintenance Program, or commonly known as “Brigada Eskwela,” to four (4) public schools in the area of Tanay, Rizal on May 31, 2016.
A total of one hundred twelve (112) Jungle Fighters along with the teachers, parents, students, pupils and other community members worked in repairing and preparing the Sampaloc Elementary School, Sampaloc National High School, Camp Mateo Capinpin Elementary School, and Jose Fabella Memorial School for the school opening.
According to Col Marceliano V Teofilo GSC (INF) PA, Chief of Staff, 2ID, said activity is among the various community-based peace and development efforts of 2ID in line with the Army Transformation Roadmap (ATR) Imperatives and IPSP – Bayanihan.
Likewise, similar activities were also conducted by the line Brigades and subordinate Battalions of 2ID in their respective Area of Responsibility (AOR).
Among the subordinate Battalions who have already started said undertaking is the 85th
Infantry (Sandiwa) Battalion stationed in Gumaca, Quezon which participated in the Brigada Eskwela at Gumaca National Highschool, Gumaca East Elementary School and Gumaca West Elementary School on May 29, 2016.
