CAMP CAPINPIN TANAY RIZAL – In support to the National Greening Program (NGP) of the government, and to the desire of Gen Gregorio Pio P Catapang Jr. AFP, Chief of Staff, Armed Forces of the Philippines to plant and nurture bamboo, the 2nd Infantry (Jungle Fighter) Division conducted a two (2) day seminar on Bamboo Pruning, Tree Caring and Establishment of Bamboo Park among its Officers and Enlisted Personnel from line Brigades and subordinate battalions on May 20-21, 2015.
The opening program was conducted at the Audio-Visual Room, Division Training School, 2ID at 9:30am and was graced by COL LENARD T AGUSTIN GSC (INF) PA, Chief of Staff, 2ID as Keynote Speaker.
In his message, Col Agustin encouraged all the participants to participate well on the said activity. “I hope you will grab this golden opportunity to maximize learning by participating and listening well in all activities and lectures that will be presented to you. Only by doing so, we can insure success in all our endeavours towards protecting and preserving our mother nature,” he said.
He also stressed the guidance of MGEN ROMEO G GAN AFP towards attaining the Command’s mission. “May I remind all of us about the guidance of our Commander to promote a positive culture; characterized by a culture of excellence, a culture of ethics and professionalism, a culture of discipline and dedication, and a culture of honor and valor, guided with our marching slogan: Changing Habits, Touching Hearts, and Winning Minds,” he added.
Likewise, to insure success of the said activity, the Command invited Mr. Gregorio Santos Jr. from the University of the Philippines, Los Baños, Laguna, a Subject Matter Expert, to facilitate the training/seminar of the participants.
